Summary:  A heat advisory is in effect for our region from 3PM this afternoon until midnight tonight as hot temperatures and high humidity will likely provide a heat index of around 105 degrees.  Even though tomorrow will be hot as well, temperatures are expected to generally decrease over the weekend. 

Tonight:  Partly cloudy and muggy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.  Lows will be in the mid 70s with winds out of the southwest at 10 to 15 MPH. 

Saturday:  Partly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.  Highs will be in the lower 90s with winds out of the west at around 10 MPH.

Saturday night:  Mostly clear with lows in the upper 60s and winds out of the north at 5 to 10 MPH.

Sunday:  Mostly clear with highs in the lower 80s and lows in the mid 60s.


Your long-term forecast:  As we enter the start of next week, Independence Day is expected to be fairly pleasant and enjoyable; however some showers and thunderstorms will be possible Tuesday and Wednesday.  Highs for the period will be in the low to mid 80s, with lows ranging from the mid 60s to lower 70s.
