Summary:  A heat advisory is in effect until 8 PM this evening as the heat index could reach into the triple digits this afternoon.  Hot and humid conditions are expected to persist for the next couple of days, as well as a chance or two for stormy weather. 

Tonight:  Partly cloudy and muggy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.  Lows will be in the mid 70s with winds out of the west at 5 to 10 MPH, becoming light and variable later in the evening. 

Tuesday:  Partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.  Highs will be in the low 90s with light and variable winds.

Tuesday night:  Partly cloudy and muggy with lows in the lower 70s and fairly calm winds.


Your long-term forecast:  While there’s no immediate relief in sight from the hot and humid weather, there will be a few chances for showers and thunderstorms Thursday through Saturday.  Daytime highs for the period will be in the low to mid 90s, with overnight lows remaining fairly steady in the mid 70s.
