Summary:  Substantially warmer than average temperatures continue for most of northern Illinois, and even though a weak cold front will graze us tonight, the weekend will still remain warmer than what you’d expect for early January.

Tonight:  Mostly cloudy in the evening becoming mostly clear after midnight.  Lows will be around 30 with winds out of the northwest at 5 to 10 MPH.

Saturday:  Sunny with highs in the low 40s and winds out of the west at 5 to 10 MPH.

Saturday night:  Partly cloudy with lows in the upper 20s and calm winds.

Sunday:  Partly cloudy with daytime highs around 40 and overnight lows in the upper 20s.

Your long-term forecast:  As we enter the next work week, Monday and Tuesday will remain pleasantly warm with highs in the mid 40s and lows in the lower 30s, however a cold front is expected to pass through the great lakes region Wednesday bringing with it highs in the mid 30s and lows in the mid 20s, as well as a slight chance of rain.
