Summary:  After some possible drizzle or light snow this afternoon, winds will remain gusty through the evening, however more benign conditions are expected for northern Illinois beginning by tomorrow. 

Tonight:  Mostly cloudy with a few flurries possible.  Lows will be in the lower 20s with winds out of the west at 10 to 20 MPH, with gusts up to 30 at times. 

Tuesday:  Partly cloudy in the morning becoming mostly sunny by the afternoon.  Highs will be in the upper 20s with winds out of the west at 5 to 15 MPH.

Tuesday night:  Partly cloudy with lows in the upper teens and calm winds.


Your long-term forecast:  Northern Illinois will see warmer than average temperatures towards the end of the work week, but even though Thursday will remain mild, there will be a slight chance of some light snow between Friday and Saturday as a cold front pushes through the region.  Highs for the period will generally be decreasing from the upper 30s to the upper 20s, with overnight lows also decreasing from the upper 20s to the upper teens.
