Summary:  Rain and thunderstorms have been moving across northern Illinois throughout the morning, and we’ll get another chance at some additional storms later this afternoon and evening, as well as continued warmer than average temperatures. 

Tonight:  Partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the early evening, becoming mostly clear overnight.  Lows will be in the mid 40s with winds out of the west at 5 to 10 MPH. 

Tuesday:  Sunny with highs in the mid 60s and calm winds.

Tuesday night:  Clear with lows around 50 and winds out of the south to southeast at 5 to 10 MPH.


Your long-term forecast:  Multiple chances of some stormy weather will exist towards the end of the week, with rain and thunderstorms possible Thursday through Saturday, although temperatures are expected to remain around 20 degrees above the seasonal average.  Daytime highs for the period will be in the upper 60s to the mid 70s, with overnight lows in the low to mid 50s.
