Summary: Some stormy weather is expected for tonight into tomorrow, with near-average temperatures persisting throughout most of northern Illinois.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy with showers likely and a chance of thunderstorms after midnight. Lows will be in the lower 40s with winds out of the southeast at 5 to 15 MPH.

Friday: Cloudy with showers likely in the morning, with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Daytime highs will be in the upper 50s with winds gradually shifting from the northwest to the northeast at 10 to 15 MPH.  

Friday night: Partly cloudy with lows in the upper 30s and winds out of the northeast at 5 to 10 MPH.


Your long-term forecast: There will be a few chances for some showers and thunderstorms during the start of next week, along with a notable drop in temperatures as a cold front passes through the region.Daytime highs will be in the mid 70s to the lower 80s for Sunday and Monday, decreasing to the upper 50s for Tuesday, with overnight lows also decreasing from the mid 50s to the lower 40s.
