Summary: As drought conditions continue for much of the Midwest region, there will be a few chances for some much needed rainfall in northern Illinois over the next couple of days.

Tonight: Cloudy with achance of showers and thunderstorms in the early evening, with storms becoming likely after midnight. Lows will be in the mid 70s with generally light and variable winds.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the mid 80s with winds out of the east at 5 to 15 MPH.  

Tuesday night: Mostly cloudy with a good chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows will be in the lower 70s with windsgradually shifting from the northeast to the southeast at 5 to 10 MPH.


Your long-term forecast: There will be a good chance of a few showers and thunderstorms Thursday into Friday, however Friday night through Saturday will likely remain dry. Daytime highs for the period will remain fairly steady in the mid 80s, with overnight lows in the upper 60s to the low 70s.
