Summary: A cold front is expected to sweep across northern Illinois late Saturday, bringing with it a good chance for stormy weather, with the possibility that some of these storms may become severe.

Tonight: Mostly clear with lows in the lower 70s. Winds will be out of the east at 5 to 10 MPH in the evening, gradually shifting to the southeast overnight.

Saturday: Partly cloudy with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs will be in the low 90s with winds out of the south at 5 to 15 MPH.  

Saturday night: Cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely. Lows will be around 70 with winds generally out of the southwest at around 10 MPH in the evening, shifting from the west after midnight.  

Sunday: Partly cloudy in the morning becoming clear for the afternoon and nighttime. Temperatures will be cooler with daytime highs in the mid 80s andovernight lows in the upper 50s.


Your long-term forecast: The first half of next week is expected to remain fairly uneventful, along with near-average temperaturesfor Monday through Wednesday. Daytime highs for the period will be in the mid to upper 80s, with overnight lows in the mid to upper 60s.
