Summary: An area of low pressure will be traversing the Great Lakes region over the next few days, which will result in numerous chances for some stormy weather throughout the weekend.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the pre-dawn hours. Lows will be in the lower 40s with winds out of the southeast at 10 to 15 MPH.

Saturday: Sporadic showers throughout the day with a few embedded showers possible. Highs will be in the mid 60s with winds out of the south at 10 to 20 MPH.  

Saturday night: Cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely. Lows will be in the lower 60s with winds out of the south at 10 to 20 MPH.  

Sunday: Cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely in the morning with a chance of showers persisting through the afternoon before becoming partly cloudy for the evening and overnight. Daytime highs will be in the upper 60s with overnight lows dropping to the lower 40s.

Your long-term forecast: After a potentially stormy weekend, mild weather will return to northern Illinois for Monday and Tuesday, however there will be a slight chance of showers from Tuesday night through Wednesday. Daytime highs for the periodwill range from the low 60s to the lower 70s, with overnight lows in the mid 40s to the mid 50s.
