Summary: After yesterdays storms cooler air has returned to northern Illinois, however strong southerly winds will be feeding warmer air into the region over the next couple of days, allowing for above average temperatures to resume beginning by tomorrow.

Tonight: Partly cloudy with lows in the mid 40s. Winds will be light and variable in the evening, then coming from the south at 5 to 10 MPH after midnight.

Tuesday: Partly sunny and windy with highs of around 70, and winds out of the south at 10 to 20 MPH with gusts up to 35 possible.  

Tuesday night: Partly cloudy with lows in the mid 50s and winds out of the south at 10 to 15 MPH.


Your long-term forecast: There will be a few opportunities for some wet weather towards the end of the week, as there will be a slight chance of a few lingering showers early Thursday morning andadditional showers and thunderstorms expected late Thursday afternoon through Friday, with a slight chance of yet another round of showers on Saturday. Daytime highsfor the period will generally remain in the 50s with overnight lows in the upper 30s to the low 40s.
