Summary: A band of showers currently extends from Iowa into Wisconsin and will continue to move Eastward through the day, which will likely begin to affect the Chicagoland area beginning by this evening.

Tonight: Cloudy with a good chance of showers. Lows will be in the upper 30s withwinds out of the southwest at 5 to 10 MPH, shifting to come from the northwest in the predawn hours.

Friday: Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers. Highs will be in the mid 40s with winds out of the northeast at around 10 MPH.  

Friday night: Cloudy with a slight chance of showers. Lows will be in the mid 30s with winds out of the northeast at around 10 MPH.

Your long-term forecast: An area of low pressure will be passing through the Great Lakes region early next week, resulting in a good chance of showers on Sunday which may change over to snow for Sunday night, and a slight chance of snow during the day Monday before conditions improve for Monday night and Tuesday. Daytime highs for the period will generally be decreasing from the low 40s to the lower 30s, with overnight lows also decreasing from the lower 30s to the lower 20s.
